August you were a busy one….
A month of planning, pop-ups, new products, exciting opportunities, new team members… and an absolutely unreasonable amount of cake.
Getting ready for the pop-up
August started with a lot of planning and organising for our pop-up.
Advertising? Check.
Stock? Hopefully.
General idea of what we were doing? Debatable.
The truth is, we had absolutely no idea whether the pop-up was going to work. We had spent weeks planning it and then reached the point where we basically had to cross our fingers, open the doors and hope that people actually turned up.
Thankfully… you did!
The pop-up is OPEN!
And then suddenly, it was happening.
The pop-up opened and, somehow, people actually came through the door. There were bags being embroidered, new T-shirts being launched, croissants disappearing at an alarming rate and prosecco flowing rather generously.
It was chaotic, it was slightly stressful, it was VERY exciting – and we absolutely loved it. We even started thinking of ways we could replicate the pop up in different locations maybe one night a month!
New Arrivals
August bought some new faces into the mix with our fresh delivery of new Big Bag colours which now have a permanent home on our website. We’re looking forward to being stocked in more independent shops as well as a super exciting online retailer which we are working on upgrading our website and stock images for.
Welcome, Olivia!
Amidst all our other new arrivals, we also welcomed a brand new Cora and Spink team member – Olivia. We’re so excited to have her on board and can’t wait to see what she brings to the business.
The August team diary
Outside of work, August was just as eventful.
We celebrated Tim’s birthday, which somehow resulted in him consuming four cakes in one day. We don’t know whether to be impressed or concerned?
Over the bank holiday, Chloe escaped to France, Olivia swapped content planning for Creamfields all the while Tim spent a rather less glamorous 2,670 minutes on the phone to solicitors and estate agents.. he’s moving house.
Already planning ahead…
The leaves have barely begun to fall but we at Cora and Spink HQ have our eyes firmly on the months ahead. Halloween planning is officially underway, and yes… we’ve already started talking about Christmas. We know. It’s far too early but apparently Christmas starts in August when you’re in retail.
And that’s a wrap…
August was a big one. New colours, new designs, a new team member, a pop-up, new stockists, exciting retail opportunities – and a lot of croissants and prosecco along the way.
We’re heading into September with plenty more in the pipeline, so watch this space!
